Aftercare

Keep the bandage on for minimum of 4 hours, or overnight. Once you remove the bandage, wash immediately with warm soapy water and pat dry. Do not use a washcloth or anything abrasive. Use Cetaphil cleanser or another mild soap such as Dr. Bronners. Continue to wash tattoo once daily. About day 4 or 5, the tattoo will form a scab, and that is the indicator to start applying lotion. A pea size amount of any light, breathable lotion (Cetaphil, Aquaphor, Coconut Oil) should be applied once a day. Make sure the lotion is completely rubbed in. Continue the lotion application for 2 weeks, or until the scab has fallen off and the skin feels smooth again. Always handle your tattoo with clean hands and wear loose fitting clothing.

  • DO NOT ever re-bandage after the initial one is removed

  • DO NOT use aloe, Neosporin, etc.; they make the skin heal too fast.

  • DO NOT swim, sauna, or soak (shower OK)

  • DO NOT expose to direct sunlight.

Once healed, preserve your piece of art and always protect your tattoo with sunscreen of at least 30 SPF.
